Who we are
Moritz Fenske and Luke Strauer started working on Brickfact in 2021, because keeping track of a Lego collection was harder than it needed to be. The app and the website launched in February 2022.
Today Brickfact has two parts: the website, with price comparison, deals, a set database and articles, and the free Brickfact app for iOS and Android, which tracks your collection and its value. We work as a remote team; the company is based in Cyprus.
What data we collect
- Retailer prices: offers from retailer and affiliate-network feeds and product APIs, including Amazon and Awin, each matched to one Lego set. Set pages hide offers whose feed is more than 48 hours old.
- Price history: a daily snapshot of retailer prices, which feeds the price charts on set pages.
- Market value: what sealed copies trade at on the secondary market, measured daily. It is an estimate, not an offer, and it does not exist for every set.
- Set data: set number, theme, pieces, minifigures, recommended retail price and release and retirement dates.
- Your data: if you create an account, we store your collection, price alerts and settings so that the app and the website can show them. The privacy policy explains what we process and why.
How we make money
Brickfact is free to use, and the app has no in-app purchases. We earn money in two ways:
- Affiliate commissions: when you buy through a retailer link, the retailer may pay us a commission. The price you pay stays the same. As an Amazon Associate, Brickfact earns from qualifying purchases.
- Advertising: blog articles show display ads. Price comparisons, deals and set pages show none.
Who writes and checks our content
Every article names its author, and each author has a profile page. Moritz checks the data in investment articles and price studies before they are published. If you find a mistake, send us the URL and a source and we will correct it.
- Moritz Fenske: co-founder; set data, offers and price studies
- Luke Strauer: co-founder; website, app and marketing
- Marcus: author; Lego sets, brick brands and collecting
